Year 7 transition

A select team of teachers work exclusively with our Year 7 students ensure that our new students feel part of the College and peers.

Thank you for your interest in our college.

Our Year 7 Transition program helps students become accustomed to life in a secondary college, and develops a sense of belonging and self-confidence.

We value all of our students and ensure that our new students feel connected and can build positive relationships with their peers.

Our new Junior Village provides Year 7 students with a dedicated space. There is an early Year 7 orientation camp and peer mentoring that builds supportive links between junior and senior students.

A select team of teachers work exclusively with our Year 7 students and our teacher to student ratio allows teachers to develop an excellent understanding of every student鈥檚 strengths and needs.

Netbooks/iPads

To assist with their learning, students in the junior school have iPads and students in the senior school have Netbooks. When used as intended, these devices provide a great range of opportunities for our students.

Parents can lend their support in ensuring that students use their access to the internet in safe and appropriate ways.

There is considerable information available for parents and students offering strategies to minimise the possible risks and ensure their device is used safely.

Open Days and Tours

Keysborough offers a number of opportunities for prospective parents and students to make an informed choice by learning first-hand about our vibrant college.

Prospective parents and students seeking the best educational opportunities in secondary education have the opportunity to meet the Principal and senior team, and learn about our:

  • comprehensive curriculum and choice of subjects
  • numeracy and literacy programs that make a difference
  • the new and enhanced Year 7 transition program
  • music for every student
  • new state-of-the-art facilities
  • netbooks,
  • and technology for all junior and senior students.

All prospective Year 5 and 6 parents and students are encouraged to participate in the Open Evenings, College Tours and other information and transition programs.

Enrolment Year 7

Every year a large number of prospective parents and students express an interest in enrolling at the College. Applicants for Year 7 enrolments must complete a Secondary School Selection form which is available from primary schools. Return this form to the primary school for processing through the normal primary-secondary school system.

Students who are successful in their enrolment applications are notified later in the year.
